Various 3D viewing features, such as entity info, outliner, model info, pan, zoom, orbit view, look around, walk-through, and more, can be used to view the 3D model contained in the original Sketchup file. A Print to PDF window will appear, allowing you to specify some options such as paper size, orientation, print mode, and whether or not to use a white backdrop to produce the desired output PDF. Print mode can be switched to the current view or sceneries top, front, presentation, elevation, etc.

In the File Name box, type a name that will begin each image file you export. Click the Save button. The Image Export Options dialog box appears. Optional In the Pages area, select whether you want to export all the document pages the default or just a page range.
Optional To change the size and resolution of your exported images, enter a new width or height value or type your desired resolution. Optional By default, your exported images open in your default image viewer. Click the Export button. The images are exported to the location you selected in Step 2.

For a higher quality image, however, move the quality slider to Better Quality. An export dialog box appears. From the Format drop-down list, select PDF.
Navigate to the location where you want to save the file. Optional By default, LayOut includes all the pages in your document in the exported file. Select the Model Space radio button if you intend to use the exported file in 3D model space.
When Model Space is selected, you can set a scale from the Scale drop-down list. Optional LayOut does not include any fills that your document contains in the exported file. Building Model Template — This is the main model where you model the building, and prepare floor plans, exterior elevations, and perspective scenes.
Site Model Template — All terrain modeling and site survey entities are placed in this model. The building model is imported into the site model. All site plan scenes are prepared in this model.
Reflected Ceiling Plan Template — The building model is imported into this model to prepare reflected ceiling plans. Sections Template — The building model is imported into this model to create additional sections and scenes. Interior Elevations Template — The building model is imported into this model to prepare interior elevation scenes. Schematic Design Models — Includes a schematic building model, existing site model, and schematic site model. Design Development Models — Fully detailed building model and site model.

Which rendering program do you use? The images you see on this page are actually photographs of projects that Nick has designed and documented using the workflow in this book. We show them to you to illustrate the fact that this is a real workflow that is used on real projects. The photographer is Vancefox. Nick does use LumenRT to create renders and live animations of his house models. Are the templates and sample files compatible with my version of SketchUp?

We ship internationally to most countries. Are the templates available in Metric? You simply need to select a different unit before creating dimensions and the template will work in metric. The SketchUp files are independent of unit, as you define the unit as you are modeling. Are there any plugins required for this workflow? You do not need to use any plugins to implement this workflow.
We do recommend a handful of optional plugins throughout the book, but they are not required. Any plugins you currently use to help you model can work seamlessly with this system. How do I get the detail models? The detail models are not included with the book.
